jordae

constantly surrounded by heartbeats, loud music and footsteps, jordae subsists through his art. a raging emotionalist, an eccentric passionista, he makes art because he must. a creator at heart, he manifests this creativity in many forms, whether it be through canvas, photography, computer illustration or street art. having experienced the debasement of barcelona’s art culture, his part in this exhibition aims to embolden the voice of artists in general (both resident and foreigner), to help further enlighten the question of “what is art?”, and to boldly ‘get up’ as much as possible.

ripobio4

RIPO. Communicates thoughts and messages to the public on the streets in the form of type-based and figurative paintings and large murals. There is almost always a subtle but essential sarcasm and contradiction in what he chooses to say, as there is in all of our lives. He has exhibited his work (mostly illegally) in over 36 countries across the world.

VADr.

Though sporadic and perhaps misguided, VADr has always held public expression close to heart. From the streets to the galleries to the bars, his ongoing pursuit for beauty, culture and a good laugh stretches far and wide. Through this project, as well as his previous in 2006, “The Tear Drop Project”, he fights what we are losing on a day to day basis…BARCELONA. Battling the scourge of asphalt, cookie-cutter architecture, and of course, the erasure of the once illustrious walls of BCN. As always, irony, humor and cold truth play a part in the menagerie of subject matter.
